Tramadol belongs to analgesic group. It is indicated to treat moderate to severe pain.

Warning and Precautions

Tramadol sometimes causes lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting. Please avoid operating a potentially unsafe tasks or mechanisms such as driving a car, until you know your reaction to the medication. The effect may be worse if you take alcohol or certain medicines such as sleep aids or muscle relaxants. Use Tramadol with caution.

Important

Tramadol should not be used while being pregnant. If you are planning to become pregnant, make sure your doctor knows that you are taking Tramadol. It also appears in breast milk and could affect a nursing infant.

Missed Dose

If your doctor gave you strict instructions not to miss a dose and if you have missed one, take the missed dose as soon as you have remembered. If it is time for your next dose, skip it and continue taking your medicine regularly. Do not double the medicine. It may cause severe side effects.

Overdose

Almost any medicine taken in excess doses without consulting your doctor causes an overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include bluish skin, cold clammy skin, difficult or slow breathing, drowsiness leading to unresponsiveness or coma, excessive sweating, seizures, slow or irregular heartbeat, very fast heart rate. If you suspect an overdose, contact your emergency room immediately.

Storage

Tramadol should be stored at room temperature in a container it comes in. Protect your medicine from heat, sun light and moisture. Do not store Tramadol in your bathroom. Keep it away from your children and pets.

Side Effects

The following common side effects may bother you: anxiety, bloating, gas, constipation, convulsive movements, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, feeling of elation, hallucinations, headache, indigestion, itching, nausea, nervousness, sweating, tremor, vomiting, weakness, agitation, trouble sleeping. Seek medical attention if any of these side effects occur: chest pain, allergic reactions, difficulty swallowing or breathing, fainting, irregular or slow heartbeat, shortness of breath, unusual stomach pain.
